Article 217 of Constitution of Nepal, 2072 has established a judicial committee to settle disputes at rural municipality and municipality level. This book has unpacked the roles and responsibilities and duties of the local judicial committees in order to increase its effectiveness through supporting bodies such as mediation centers, local level bodies and administration to ensure increased access to justice for victims of gender based violence. Nepal lacking literature on the specific functionality of the local level judicial committees on GBV issues has given cause for inception of this book. This book explores the various avenues through which local level judicial committees can operate to ensure justice for victims of gender based violence.
