Summary of Book
Constitution of Nepal has envisioned a violence free and inclusive society. In order to ensure gender equality, human rights and inclusive democracy, it is necessary to address gender based violence. The most important precondition in this regard is to ensure justice. For this every citizen should be aware and understand the limits and guarantees of the constitution. This book provides information on the legal provision surrounding gender based violence in a simplified manner to enable broader dissemination among general public and also victims of gender based violence. We believe the book will contribute in knowledge production among citizens, specifically victims and justice level stake holders enabling them to enhance their capacity to improve accountability in the justice system. Furthermore the book will prove to be useful not only to victims of gender based violence but also to paralegals, organizations working against GBV, local level government officials, members of political parties at local level and people representatives.
